A rat slab is a thin, non-structural layer of concrete (usually 2–3 inches thick) poured over soil or gravel in crawlspaces, basements, or under foundations. Its main purpose is to prevent rodents and pests from burrowing in, while also controlling moisture and providing a clean, stable surface.

Rat Slabs are crafted from concrete and need to be anchored to the foundation walls to keep them secure.

Steel cables are attached to the anchor points to give the concreate additional strength once cured.
After the area is properly prepared, concrete is pumped in, embedded with the steel cables, and smoothed out to a layer of 3 inches or so.
Once cured, this provides a permanent, impenetrable barrier that prevents rats and other animals from borrowing under foundations and up into the crawl space.
